There is one sentence, just one, that will build more trust with your audience than like
six months of posting ever will.
Now you’re probably out here writing like 12 paragraph captions about your journey,
maybe your values, maybe your mission statement is in there, but I promise that your buyer
on the other end of the screen is just wanting to hear like seven words from you and I’m
going to tell you what they are.
If you’re new to my face, my name’s Shelley.
I’ve had 20 years of sales experience in startups and scale-ups and now I’m teaching
everything I know to coaches, course creators, solopreneurs here.
Now before I give you the sentence, I need you to understand why this works because
without the psychology behind it, it’s just not going to land the same way.
Now think about a time where maybe a friend of yours, someone in your life described the
problem that you are having, maybe even better than you can describe it yourself.
Memes are really good at this.
It’s this little feeling, it’s this little jolt of like, wait, how does she know that?
I literally just saw a meme of a woman touching her chin hairs and people thought, oh, maybe
she’s deep in thought and it zoomed in and she’s just touching her chin hairs.
That’s something none of us talk about, but it’s so relatable to us women.
But that feeling you get when you watch that, that is called attunement and it is the single
fastest shortcut to trust in psychology and sales.
So your buyer is not trusting you because of your credentials.
They trust you when they feel deeply and specifically understood by you.
So the sentence you need to put out there either on your captions or in something you’re
selling, maybe a sales page is you’re probably and then something specific that they are feeling.
And don’t say you’re probably struggling because that is too vague.
Like for instance, I could say you’re probably staring at the same sales page that you have
changed three times this week and still not sure what is happening with it and why it’s
not converting.
Now, the person who reads that, who is doing that, is going to resonate with it so much
and in their brain, they’re going to be like, how do they know that?
And the person who feels like you’re in their head and is attuned with you is going to
follow you and open your emails and they are going to buy from you.
So this is actually one of the core frameworks I teach inside my course, Read the Room.
And it is a foundation for everything else I teach about sales.
Because once people trust you, the selling part gets super easy.
The hard part is just building the trust.
And I promise, use this sentence.
It’ll be the fastest way to get there.
